GOOGLE ECG WRISTBAND IS COMING

As per the latest reports revealed by the CNN Money via Bloomberg, Google is currently working on a brand new wristband which can take a person's ECG and assess environmental stressors, including light and noise levels. Google's new device is able to measure electrical pulses of the heart and skin temperature.

The life sciences team at Google, the same team behind the driverless cars and Internet balloons, are the working heads of this healthcare device. The studies will help the company to figure out how the watch-like gadget could be used to study and treat diseases, says Google.

Andy Conrad, head of the life sciences team at Google said that "Our hope is that this technology could unlock a new class of continuous, medical-grade information that makes it easier to understand these patterns and manage serious health conditions". The Activity sensors embedded in the wristband can detect changes in a person's mobility, which would help in studying few diseases, say Parkinson's.

As the reason for the development of this  new smart wristband, the developing team is making an argument that it is difficult to measure heart rate accurately from the wrist. In the devices like the Apple Watch, typically use rapidly flashing infrared light to measure blood flow changes which indicate heartbeat timing.

"But bones, tendons, muscles, and vascular structure of the wrist can interfere with the ability to accurately measure heart rate and other biometrics during exercise," said Dr. Steven LeBoeuf, president of Valencell. And this wearable device will help doctor’s to remotely monitor patient’s health, he added.

Anyway the device is still on the testing table at Google labs and they are really working hard to figure out our “accurate” pulses. And let’s expect the Google ECG wristband will encircle our wrists soon.
