apple’s first wearable device

Apple_Inc

Yes, you read it right. As per the latest reports from a Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Apple is getting ready to launch their first ‘wearable device’ in the month of October. The techies around the world are long expected Apple to unveil some sort of smartwatch, following the release of Samsung’s Galaxy Gear watches.

The report does not specifically mention the oft-rumored iWatch as the product that Apple will introduce, but the device will make good use of the Health and Health Kit programs. Apple is anticipating strong demand for this watch-like device, with plans to manufacture between three to five million units of the device per month.

The specifications of the device are yet to be finalised. It will likely use a curved organic light-emitting diode (OLED) touchscreen and collect health-related data, such as calorie consumption, sleep activity, blood glucose and blood oxygen levels. It will also allow users to read messages sent by smartphones.

Anyway Apple declined to comment on this.

What you think about the Apple’s new initiative…?
